Mambo Magic, a flowing Foxtrot, a terrific Tango, a wonderful Waltz or the cheeky Cha Cha, these are just a few of the dance styles or rhythms you will enjoy at Over 50’s Ballroom Dancing Club; the perfect way to keep physically and mentally active, meet new people, learn impressive dances and, of course, have a whole lot of fun.

Each regular event occurs generally every two weeks and sees their dance coordinator picking approximately 18 dances from a list of 70 for the day’s program. These are a mixture of New Vogue, Modern Sequence, Modern Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Old Time.

Group lessons occur at the start of each session where dancers of all levels (beginners or experienced) learn a new pattern of steps to one of our modern or Latin dance rhythms. DJ Tony also provides the perfect soundtrack for your hot shoe shuffling.

Anyone over 50 with a desire to dance is welcome to show up on the day and join the dancing.

The Over 50’s Ballroom Dancing Club was formed in 1991. Since then, regular dances and events have been held throughout Perth and across WA.Running long-term on alternate fortnightly Thursdays at Stirling Leisure Centre in Karinyup, the classes now also turn Cannington Exhibition Centre’s main Exhibition Hall into a dancefloor most other Thursdays. Since mid-2019, the Cannington sessions have instantly become a hit, with between 120 and 150 over 50-year-olds regularly having a ‘ball’ at the daytime dance events.
